These dolls were made and given to me by my friend, artist Lisa Fifield (Oneida.) Once a year we meet, put down the blanket, and trade our work. The horse was made for a child in the 1890's. The man is wearing a Ghost Dance Shirt. Ghost Dancers would move in a circle to the left, and some would fall from exhaustion. I thought of a man who fell into the circle, stared into the sky and dreamt of his family. This painting was my gift to my friend Lisa, who lives in two worlds at the same time.

I arrived back at the ranch with the sun descending on the Big Horns to my west. On the back of my horse was tied a collection of antlers and under my arm was this sun bleached cow's skull.
