The Shoshone Hummingbird
11 x 14 oil
$1100
The hummingbird was sometimes revered by Plains Indian warriors for its remarkable strength, endurance, ability to change direction quickly, and travel long distances. A warrior in enemy territory emulating a hummingbird could travel undetected and uncaught.
For some Native American cultures, the hummingbird is a symbol of hope and resilience. The resilience of survivors of human trafficking is also represented by the hummingbird.

Mountain Wildflower
11 x 14 oil on linen
$1200
Artist Mary Michael used a beautiful model for her sculpture she created to honor Sacajawea. Her momentous sculpture graces the front of The Sacajawea Hotel in Three Forks, Mt. The moment I told her I'd like to do a painting showing an angle of her sculpture, she said, "of course you can". Her kind altruism shocked me and restored my faith in artists who encourage others. Thank you, Mary, for your generosity. And thanks to our Agaidika friends

"Three Fingers"
16 x 20 oil on linen
$1600
A Harrison Peace Medal similar to this one was auctioned in New York a few years ago. Such medals were given in order to curry favor and remind the Natives the government in Washington expected co-existence and acquiescence. President Harrison had little real regard for Native Americans, they were just something in the way of the agenda, that Manifest Destiny was justified and inevitable.
